Further details

In order to realize a society where all can satisfy their mobility needs in a clean, free, and safe manner, it is important to solve the following social issues. We are looking for business ideas with social impact that will contribute to solving these issues!

Societal IssuesSubtheme DescriptionClues to Solutions
①Building a Mobile Society that Supports those who Cannot Utilize Standard Transportation Systems●As society shifts towards a new normal, private cars are becoming more and more important as a means of transportation for a smaller number of people. In rural areas in particular, private cars are an important means of transportation due to inadequate public transportation services, but the accelerating aging of society raises concerns about the safety of older drivers.
●In rural areas, urban development that does not rely on the private car has been proposed and promoted, but there has been no definitive solution. It is important to build a mobility society in the near future that has an eye toward self-driving cars.
●Mechanisms to support driving (driver monitoring technology, mechanisms to detect the surrounding environment, driving support using accumulated information, etc.)
Mechanisms to improve the transportation environment
(technology to support pricing, systems to support institutional conversion, etc.), new initiatives to support mobility (creation of local communities, ideas to realize car sharing, etc.)
②Logistics Systems under the New Normal●With the spread of the new strain of COVID-19, many countries took measures such as voluntary restraints and restrictions on travel to prevent its spread. This has accelerated the movement of services to and from homes, and in particular, the demand for home delivery services such as TA-Q-BIN and food delivery has increased dramatically.
●In addition to the fact that the last-one-mile has been an important issue since before the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be important to respond to this requirement by utilizing automated driving, delivery robots and drones, and efficient use of existing transportation services. At the same time, it will be necessary to explore social services that achieve their objectives without movement.
●Last-mile manpower reduction/automation (e.g., systems for efficient home delivery), new delivery services (e.g., use of home delivery robots/drones, home delivery services utilizing other modes)
③Realization of comfortable travel time with advanced mobility●As automated driving becomes a reality and the burden of driving is about to be reduced, efficient use of long-distance travel time, especially for travel and business trips, is attracting attention.
●We believe that it is important to create services related to new ways of using travel time, such as improving work efficiency and creating personal time.
Improved work efficiency and private time on the premise that driving does not interfere with work, new ways of transportation and related services (services that can be provided in the car, local revitalization services based on car visits, etc.)
④Negative effects of a car-centric society●With the spread of automobiles, environmental problems such as global warming caused by CO2 emissions, air pollution caused by exhaust gases, and noise pollution to the surrounding area have increased.
●In addition, as a result of car-centered road development and urban planning, safety and health considerations for citizens have been neglected.
●It is important to create a human-centered city that takes into account new mobility while paying attention to environmental pollution countermeasures and traffic safety.
Mechanisms to support regional and individual actions that contribute to human-centered urban development (e.g., environmental pollution control and traffic safety measures), development of micromobility (urban areas, tourist destinations, etc.)
